CHOOK SADDLES
to help protect your hens backs during mating
The saddles currently being used by the Stud are handmade using a variety of new and recycled materials
including denim. The materials are washed, sanitised and dried before they are made into the saddles.
They are very colourful and brighten up the yard when the ladies here are wearing them.
The saddles are made in a way that they slip over the head and wings of your hen using elastic to keep them in place.
The saddles are made in different sizes = small (for bantams) medium (for 1st year hens) large (for older hens)
The Stud has found that saddles are very good in protecting our hens feathers and help protect their skin from potential scratches and/or gashes from over zealous roosters
