MOSQUITOES =
Mosquitoes are most active late in the evening and early mornings. They detect warm blooded creatures by carbon dioxide exhaled and also by body temperature. They are also attracted by ultraviolet light. The Mozzie and Bug Trap mimics these natural processes - providing a fatal attraction for those annoying mozzies.
Mozzie and Bug Trap contains a special photocatalyst lamp with a titanium coated venturi collar and works by producing CARBON DIOXIDE, the process which when combined with HEAT and a particular WAVELENGTH RAY becomes extremely attractive to mosquitoes and other flying insect pests.
Mosquitoes are drawn through the upper capture windows where they are sucked down by the strong pull of the central fan and into the stainless steel capture basket. Once captured the mosquitoes and bugs are unable to escape and the constant flow of air from the internal fan ensures that they dehydrate and die. Using the Mozzie and Bug Trap also constantly purifies the air though the Photocaytalictic process which sterilises airborne bacteria.
TITANIUM (TiO2) BENEFITS The effect of photocatalysis used in titanium is environmentally friendly. Titanium dioxide, also known as titania, is a naturally occurring oxide in titanium. Titanium was approved as a food additive in 1968 by the USA. At present titanium is used in making chocolates and is totally harmless to humans and animals.
Photocatalysis a process that uses light-energy with titanium as a catalyst. Titanium does not degrade and remains effective throughout the life of the trap. The ultraviolet rays from the U/V lamps and titanium react together to purify and sterilise the air. Using energy from light, titanium creates two oxidation reactions which decomposes toxic organic substances by oxidation.
Nanotechnology
By using U/V lamps in combination with an inner TiO2 collar, it generates carbon dioxide through moisture and heat in the trap when it is operating because it mimics the human breath it lures mosquitoes to enter inside. Titanium Dioxide's photocatalytic characteristic is greatly enhanced due to the advent of nanotechnology. At nano-scale, not only the surface area of titanium dioxide particles increases dramatically but also it exhibits other effects on optical properties and size.
THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ZAPPING & TRAPPING?
Zapping is noisy Trapping is whisper quiet
Complicated to clean Twist open and clean with brush
Outdoor use only Effective indoors and outdoors
Unpleasant burning smell Environmentally safe
Odourless, no chemicals, no propane gas
